Please note: On Thursday, April 25, Stone Zoo volunteers, employees and local emergency responders will take part in a routine animal escape exercise. While the exercise is occurring, guests have the opportunity to participate in the evacuation portion, and may be asked to move to certain areas within the Zoo for a brief period of time (not to exceed 10 minutes). These exercises are an important part of our preparedness training, and we appreciate your participation and understanding. If you have any questions about what to expect, please don't hesitate to contact us at 617-989-2000 or info@zoonewengland.org.

Sustainability

The goal of environmental sustainability is to conserve and preserve our natural resources by managing them responsibly to prevent further environmental degradation. Through environmental sustainability, we're working to protect these natural resources for future generations.

Commitments to natural resource conservation and sustainability (green) practices are required elements of the American Zoological Association's (AZA) conservation-related accreditation standards, and AZA-accredited zoos like Zoo New England develop and implement an array of innovative strategies to meet our green goals. We're proud of the conservation work we do, both around the globe and within our Zoos. Our dedicated Conservation Committee is consistently improving sustainability efforts throughout our Zoos.
