We're celebrating a slew of fall babies with a party you don’t want to miss! Join Millie the tapir, Pablo the western lowland gorilla, Ptolemy the pygmy hippo and Scout the De Brazza’s monkey as we celebrate their third birthdays in style!

• Sign a giant birthday card four our "Tropical Threes."
• Stop by our Education Station to learn more about these spectacular species.
• Watch as the animals receive special birthday-themed enrichment.
• Don’t miss Big Joe the Storyteller in the Hippo Theater, with storytimes at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Birthday Gifts

Celebrate this important milestone by making a donation in honor of the Tropical Forest residents! You can also help by donating your used cellphone at the collection box by the gorilla exhibit. By recycling your phones, you help protect animals like western lowland gorillas that live in areas where cell phone materials are mined.

Committed to Conservation

Zoo New England participates in the Baird’s Tapir, Western Lowland Gorilla, Pygmy Hippo and De Brazza’s Monkey Species Survival Plans (SSP), which is a cooperative, inter-zoo program coordinated nationally through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). SSPs help to ensure the survival of selected species in zoos and aquariums, most of which are threatened or endangered, and enhance conservation of these species in the wild.
