Conservation & You

Meet Kid Conservationist, Jack

It's Turtle Time! Join Kid Conservationist, Jack, as he explores the wetlands at the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord, NH.

In Jack's outing with the Zoo's Conservation Society, our field conservation team will introduce you to the painted turtle, musk turtle (stinky!), and the snapping turtle (watch your finger!), and the star of the show, the Blanding's turtle. Learn about how ZNE's field team tracks turtles, why, and learn some really CRAZY turtle facts. Did you know turtles don't breathe, while under frozen ice, sometimes for weeks or even months at a time? Plus, an EXCLUSIVE interview with John Linehan, the President of Zoo New England.
