Celebrate Amari’s 8th Birthday

Amari is turning 8, and we're ready to celebrate!

Included with general Zoo admission. No additional purchase or reservation is required for Zoo members. 

It's a tall order, but we hope you're ready to join in the fun. Here's what's in store: 

• 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.: Pose for a selfie with our costumed giraffe mascot at the Zebra entrance.
• 9:00 a.m.: Watch as Amari and Chad enjoy special birthday treats.
• Explore giraffe facts at our Education Station.
• Sign a giant birthday card for Amari.
• Make your own giraffe mask at a craft station.
• 2:30 p.m.: Meet with an educator to learn all about the world's tallest mammals.

Giraffe SAFE

We're proud to stand tall with giraffes and partner with the Giraffe SAFE program to save one of Africa’s most majestic species. Through this partnership, we're committing to help conservation efforts of reticulated giraffes in Eastern Kenya.

Species Survival Program

We participate in the Masai giraffe Species Survival Plan. By sharing research and knowledge, participating institutions work together to establish guidelines that best ensure the health of captive populations, and with success, the survival of endangered species.
