National Zoo Keeper Week

As the need to protect and preserve wildlife and vanishing habitats has increased, a zookeeper's role as educator and wildlife ambassador has become essential. During the third week of July each year, we take time to acknowledge amazing animal management staff at Zoo New England for the important work they do.
Today we spotlight senior keeper, Kristin Cibotti, and what she loves about working with the white-bearded wildebeest.

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a zookeeper?
Throughout the week, watch the zookeepers in action during the scheduled training sessions. Animals are trained not only in husbandry behaviors that assist keepers in daily care, but also in medical behaviors to help hospital staff with veterinary care.

- Wednesday, July 23: 1:00 p.m., Bactrian camel exhibit; 2:00 p.m., Andean condor exhibit
- Friday, July 25: 2:00 p.m., warthog exhibit
- Saturday, July 26: 1:00 p.m., indoor gorilla exhibit
