Camel Trek to debut at Franklin Park Zoo

UPDATE: Camel rides are no longer available at Franklin Park Zoo. Please visit our Attractions page for available activities.

This spring, get up close to camels and even enjoy a ride at Franklin Park Zoo’s new Camel Trek attraction! For thousands of years, humans have relied on domesticated dromedary camels as a mode of transportation in northern Africa and southern Asia. Known as the “ships of the desert,” these animals are incredibly adapted to harsh, arid environments.

Visitors to Franklin Park Zoo will have the opportunity to learn more about these animals as well as get a camel-eye view when Camel Trek opens on May 16. Daily rides will be available from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. during the week, and from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on weekends. Tickets will be $8 per ride. Guests can purchase a photo of their camel ride for an additional $10.
