Sunday, August 16: 
• Franklin Park Zoo will be open for daytime guests. Due to events taking place outside the Zoo, traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect throughout Franklin Park. Circuit Drive will be closed, and barriers may be in place on some roadways. If you encounter a barrier, please identify yourself as a Zoo visitor. Parking will be available in the Zoo’s parking lots, though there may be periods when roads or parking areas are temporarily inaccessible. We strongly encourage the use of public transportation or rideshare when possible. 
• Franklin Park Zoo’s Boston Lights evening event will be closed on Sunday, August 16.

About the White-Cheeked Gibbon

The white-cheeked gibbon is a small and slender tree-dwelling ape. Like all apes, it has no tail. Up above the forest floor, gibbons use their long arms to swing between branches and vines, an activity called brachiating. They can also leap across gaps in the tree canopy up to 30 feet. On the ground, gibbons walk on their legs, often with arms held above their heads for balance.
