Wild Explorers

Turn a day off from school into a day of wild discovery! Wild Explorers Days invite students to explore the zoo through hands-on activities, animal encounters, games, and behind-the-scenes adventures. Every session brings a new way to learn, play and get wild!

Program Details: 

These single-day sessions are offered on dates when school is not in session. Taught by Zoo educators, classes include hands-on activities, discussion, animal encounters and behind-the-scenes experiences.  

Registration Note for January's Session: Registration will open in early December, due to a registration software update.

Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo

8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Price:
Members: $115 | Non-members: $140

Age Group & Capacity:  
Grades 3-5
Up to 20 participants per day 

Safety Information:
Classes are held outdoors, including zoo walks and activities. Please note, parent/guardian and unregistered friend/sibling attendance is not permitted. 

Program Details

Zoolympics: Monday, October 12 

Get ready to move like the animals! In today's Zoolympics program, participants will compete in fun games and activities inspired by the amazing ways animals run, jump, climb, swim, and move through their habitats. Along the way, we’ll meet some of the animals who call the zoo home and discover how their unique movements help them survive out in nature! 

ZooDunIt?: Wednesday, November 11 

Calling all animal detectives! Something mysterious is happening at the zoo, and it’s up to you to crack the case. Search for clues, solve puzzles, and learn amazing animal facts along the way. 

Wild about STEAM: Monday, January 18 

Get wild about science, technology, engineering, art, and math! In Wild About STEAM, discover how these subjects help us understand animals and the natural world through hands-on activities, games and investigations.

Cancellation Policy  

If you need to cancel your registration more than 1 week before the date of your child's session, 50% of your cost will be refunded. If you cancel with less than 1 weeks’ notice, 25% of your cost will be refunded. 

No refunds will be given to no-shows or cancellations made within 24 hours of the program start time.
